Linda Lam, DO
What can I say about my biography, other than I am living my dream helping people be healthier and feel more confident.
My parents moved to New York City when they were 19 and started out in the projects. I knew I wanted to go into medicine when I was treated at the Health District. Given that opportunity for public health care, I wanted to give back. Not having any confidence and feeling that I had limited opportunities, it is by the grace of God that I am a doctor. I was very focused in school and was determined to always be my best. I majored in Biochemistry at Barnard College while doing AIDS research at the National Institutes of Health in Maryland during the summers and after college. While I enjoyed how rewarding science was, I learned that what I really wanted was to personally connect with patients.
I went to Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine in New Jersey. I loved every aspect of medicine and chose a residency in Family Medicine. I worked in Philadelphia at major hospitals caring for critically ill and complicated patients. During this time, I also became very interested in aesthetics. I was getting acid peels, microdermabrasion, light therapy, and even liposuction. I wanted to feel and look my best even though I was physically exhausted.
I married a doctor who was in the military and we moved to Guam 2008. There, I worked for the Community Health center for 4 years. The experience of caring for so many indigent sick people was so rewarding. From there, we moved to Idaho where I started working for Saint Alphonsus at a super busy practice in Nampa. I mostly cared for geriatrics and loved every minute of it.
About a year ago, I began to feel like my face was falling. I went to a provider and had Botox to my forehead and visited another for filler in my cheeks and nasolabial folds. I felt like I was ordering parts, and not knowing what I really needed. I cannot deny how amazing I felt after the treatments. But I realized I needed a long-term plan to rejuvenate my skin and slow down the aging process. So, after much research, I recognized that energy-based devices can help deliver healthy skin with strong integrity. Along with neurotoxins to prevent wrinkles and fillers to build structure and stimulate collagen. I formulated my own personal plan for a more natural transition to feeling more vibrant and fabulous.
I started this business to share what I have learned with my closest friends. I love every aspect of helping them look and feel their best. For me, customizing a plan for a client is the most challenging, exciting, and fun part of the journey. There is much to consider: beauty goals, time constraints, maintenance, budgets, and lifestyle. There are so many modalities and products on the market which can become overwhelming and paralyzing when trying to determine what’s best for yourself. But you do not have to be alone in the process when you have a consultant by your side to guide your treatment plan.
So, there you have it, my professional biography. My personal one was a hot mess, but I am remarried to the most wonderful supportive husband and live with 2 dogs and 3 cats.
